Romans 8

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.

For what was impossible for the law — in that it was weak through the flesh — God did: having sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as a sin offering, He condemned sin in the flesh,

so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to flesh but according to Spirit.

For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

For the mindset of the flesh is death, but the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace.

because the mind-set of the flesh is enmity toward God, for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can it be;

And those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

But if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

So then, brothers, we are debtors — not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

For if you live according to the flesh, you are certain to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

For you have not received a spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, 'Abba! Father!'

The Spirit himself bears witness to our spirit that we are children of God.

And if children, then also heirs — heirs of God on the one hand, and fellow heirs with Christ on the other — if indeed we suffer together with Him so that we may also be glorified together.

For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

For the eager expectation of creation eagerly awaits the revelation of the sons of God.

For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it,

that the creation itself will also be set free from the slavery of decay into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groans together and travails together until now.

And not only so, but also we ourselves, having the firstfruit of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan inwardly, awaiting adoption, the redemption of our body.

For in hope we were saved; but hope that is seen is not hope — for what does one see, why does one also hope for it?

But if we hope for what we do not see, we await it with endurance.

Likewise also the Spirit helps in our weakness; for what we should pray for as is necessary we do not know, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.

And he who searches hearts knows what the mindset of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to God.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

And those whom he predestined, these he also called; and those whom he called, these he also justified; and those whom he justified, these he also glorified.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

He who indeed did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies.

Who is the one condemning? Christ Jesus is the one who died — more than that, who was also raised from the dead — who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

Just as it has been written: 'For your sake we are being put to death all the day long; we were reckoned as sheep of slaughter.'

But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither things present nor things to come, nor powers

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
