Romans 5
Having been justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom also we have obtained access [by faith] into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we also glory in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces endurance,
and endurance, proven character; and proven character, hope.
and hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
For scarcely will anyone die for a righteous man — though for the good man perhaps someone even dares to die.
But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
Much more therefore, having now been justified by his blood, we shall be saved through him from the wrath.
For if while being enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved in his life.
And not only so, but we also glory in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all people, because all sinned —
for until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not charged to account when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a type of the one to come.
But not as the trespass, so also the gift of grace. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ abound to the many.
And the gift is not like the result through the one who sinned; for the judgment from one was unto condemnation, but the gracious gift from many trespasses is unto justification.
For if by the trespass of the one death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the one Jesus Christ.
So then, as through one trespass unto condemnation for all people, so also through one act of righteousness unto justification of life for all people.
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were constituted sinners, so also through the obedience of the One the many will be constituted righteous.
Now the law came in alongside, so that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded all the more.
so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
