Romans 12

¹I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational worship.

²And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God — what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

³For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one who is among you: do not think more highly than you ought to think, but think so as to think soberly, to each as God has apportioned a measure of faith.

⁴For just as in one body we have many members, and all the members do not have the same function,

⁵so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

⁶Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us — if prophecy, let us use it according to the proportion of faith,

⁷or service, in serving; or the one who teaches, in teaching;

⁸or the one who exhorts, in exhortation; the one who shares, in generosity; the one who leads, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

⁹Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhorring the evil, cleaving to the good;

¹⁰in brotherly love, devoted to one another; in honor, outdoing one another;

¹¹in diligence, not lagging; fervent in spirit, serving the Lord.

¹²rejoicing in hope, enduring in tribulation, persevering in prayer;

¹³contributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.

¹⁴Bless those who persecute [you]; bless and do not curse.

¹⁵Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

¹⁶thinking the same thing toward one another, not setting your mind on lofty things, but being carried away with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.

¹⁷Repaying no one evil for evil, taking thought for what is honorable before all people.

¹⁸If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with all people;

¹⁹Never avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath; for it has been written: 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay,' says the Lord.

²⁰On the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals upon his head.

²¹Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
