Psalms 8

From the mouth of infants and nursing babes you have established strength, on account of your adversaries, to silence the enemy and the avenger.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place.

What is mortal man that you should remember him — and the son of man that you should care for him?

Yet you made him lack a little from God, and with glory and splendor you crowned him.

Flocks and herds, all of them; and also the beasts of the field.

The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea — whatever passes through the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
