Psalms 5
For the director of music. To the flutes. A psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD — consider my meditation.
Give heed to the voice of my cry for help — my king and my God — for to you I pray.
O LORD, in the morning you will hear my voice; in the morning I will array for you and watch.
For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; no evil one may sojourn with you.
The boastful cannot stand before your eyes — you hate all workers of iniquity.
You will destroy those who speak lies; the man of bloodshed and deceit the LORD abhors.
But I, by the abundance of your loyal love, will come into your house; I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence for you.
O LORD, lead me in your righteousness on account of my enemies; make your way straight before me.
For there is nothing reliable in his mouth — destruction is in their inward parts; their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they flatter.
Declare them guilty, O God — let them fall from their own counsels; because of the abundance of their transgressions, banish them, for they have rebelled against you.
And may all who take refuge in you rejoice forever; let them shout for joy, and may you shelter over them; let those who love your name exult in you.
For you, O LORD, will bless the righteous; you will crown him with favor as with a shield.
