Psalms 3

A psalm of David, when he fled from before Absalom his son. O LORD, how many are my adversaries! Many are rising up against me.

Many are saying of my soul, 'There is no salvation for him in God.' Selah.

With my voice I call to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. Selah.

I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.

I will not fear the myriads of people who have set themselves against me all around.

Arise, O LORD; save me, my God; for you have struck all my enemies on the cheek; the teeth of the wicked you have broken.

Salvation belongs to the LORD; upon your people is your blessing. Selah.
