Psalms 16

²I have said to the LORD, 'You are my Lord; my good is nothing apart from you.'

³As for the holy ones who are in the land — they are the magnificent ones; all my delight is in them.

⁴The sorrows of those who hasten after another will multiply; I will not pour out their offerings of blood, and I will not take their names upon my lips.

⁵The LORD is the portion of my allotment and my cup — you yourself maintain my lot.

⁶The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, a beautiful inheritance is mine.

⁷I will bless the LORD who counsels me — indeed, in the nights my inmost being instructs me.

⁸I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

⁹Therefore my heart rejoices, and my glory exults — even my flesh dwells in security.

¹⁰For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol; you will not let your faithful one see the Pit.

¹¹You will make me know the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
