Matthew 7

Do not judge, so that you may not be judged;

For with the judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you measure, it will be measured to you.

And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the beam that is in your own eye?

Or how will you say to your brother, Let me cast the speck out of your eye, and behold, the beam is in your own eye?

Hypocrite! First cast out the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to cast out the speck from your brother’s eye.

Do not give what is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the pigs, lest they trample them with their feet, and turning, tear you to pieces.

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Or what man is there among you, who, when his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

Or also, if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?

If therefore you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those who ask him?

Therefore all things, whatever you wish that people would do for you, so also you do for them; for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it.

How narrow is the gate and constricted the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it.

Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

By their fruits you will recognize them. They do not gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles, do they?

So every good tree produces good fruit, but the rotten tree produces bad fruit.

A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a rotten tree produce fine fruits.

Every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

So then, by their fruits you will recognize them.

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of the heavens, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in the heavens.

Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in your name perform many mighty works?

And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you who work lawlessness.'

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be likened to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock.

And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand.

And the rain came down, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was its fall.

And it came about, when Jesus had finished these words, that the crowds were astonished at his teaching,

for he was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.
