Matthew 28
Now after the Sabbath, as it was dawning toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb.
And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, having descended from heaven and having come, rolled away the stone and was sitting upon it.
Now his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
And from fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.
But the angel answered and said to the women: Do not be afraid, you; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised, just as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.
And go quickly and tell his disciples that he has been raised from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him. Behold, I have told you.
So they went away quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to announce it to his disciples.
Now as they were going to report to his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying: Greetings! And they came to him and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.
Then Jesus says to them: Do not be afraid; go, announce to my brothers that they are to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.
Now as they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened.
And gathering together with the elders and taking counsel, they gave a large sum of silver to the soldiers,
saying: Say that his disciples came by night and stole him while we were sleeping.
And if this is heard before the governor, we ourselves will persuade him and keep you out of trouble.
And they, taking the silver, did as they were instructed. And this story has been spread abroad among the Jews to this present day.
So the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
And when they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And remember, I myself am with you all the days, until the completion of the age.
