Leviticus 4
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: When a person sins unintentionally against any of the commandments of the LORD that must not be done, and does one of any of them —
If it is the anointed priest who sins, so as to bring guilt on the people, then he shall present for his sin that he has sinned a young bull without blemish to the LORD as a sin offering.
And he shall bring the bull to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, and he shall lay his hand upon the head of the bull and slaughter the bull before the LORD.
And the anointed priest shall take some of the blood of the bull and bring it to the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the LORD, toward the curtain of the sanctuary.
And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the LORD that is in the Tent of Meeting, and all the rest of the blood of the bull he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
And all the fat of the bull of the sin offering he shall take up from it: the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat that is upon the entrails.
and the two kidneys and the fat that is upon them, which is upon the loins, and the lobe that is upon the liver — upon the kidneys he shall remove it.
As it is lifted up from the ox of the sacrifice of well-being — and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.
But the skin of the bull and all its flesh, with its head and with its legs and its entrails and its dung —
He shall carry the whole bull outside the camp to a clean place, to the ash heap, and shall burn it on wood with fire — at the ash heap it shall be burned.
And if the whole congregation of Israel goes astray, and the matter is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they do one of any of the commandments of the LORD that must not be done, and they incur guilt —
When the sin that they have sinned becomes known, the assembly shall present a young bull for a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting.
And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bull before the LORD, and one shall slaughter the bull before the LORD.
And the anointed priest shall bring some of the blood of the bull to the Tent of Meeting.
And the priest shall dip his finger in some of the blood and sprinkle seven times before the LORD, toward the curtain.
And some of the blood he shall put on the horns of the altar that is before the LORD, which is in the Tent of Meeting, and all the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
And all its fat he shall take up from it and burn on the altar.
And he shall do with the bull as he did with the bull of the sin offering — so shall he do with it. And the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.
And he shall carry the bull outside the camp and burn it as he burned the first bull — it is the sin offering of the assembly.
When a leader sins and does one of all the commandments of the LORD his God that must not be done unintentionally and incurs guilt —
Or his sin that he has sinned becomes known to him — he shall bring as his offering a male goat without blemish.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat and slaughter it in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering before the LORD — it is a sin offering.
And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and its remaining blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering.
And all its fat the priest shall burn on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of well-being. And the priest shall make atonement for him from his sin, and he shall be forgiven.
And if any single person from the people of the land sins unintentionally by doing one of the things that the LORD has commanded must not be done, and becomes guilty —
or his sin which he has sinned is made known to him — he shall bring his offering: a female goat without blemish, a female, for his sin which he has sinned.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering and slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
And the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and all the rest of its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.
And all its fat he shall remove, as the fat is removed from the sacrifice of well-being, and the priest shall burn it on the altar as a soothing aroma to the LORD. And the priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.
And if what he brings as his offering for a sin offering is a lamb — a female without blemish he shall bring it.
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering and slaughter it as a sin offering in the place where they slaughter the burnt offering.
And the priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and all its blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar.
And all its fat he shall remove as the fat of a sheep is removed from the sacrifice of well-being, and the priest shall burn them on the altar upon the food gifts of the LORD, and the priest shall make atonement on his behalf for his sin that he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.
