Leviticus 22

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

Speak to Aaron and to his sons, and let them separate themselves from the holy offerings of the sons of Israel, and let them not profane my holy name, which they consecrate to me. I am the LORD.

Say to them: Throughout the generations of you all, any man of all your offspring who approaches the holy things that the sons of Israel consecrate to the LORD while his uncleanness is upon him — that person shall be cut off from before me. I am the LORD.

Any man of the seed of Aaron who is leprous or who has a discharge shall not eat of the holy things until he is purified; and the one who touches any unclean person, or a man from whom goes out an emission of seed—

or a man who touches any swarming creature by which he becomes unclean, or any person by whom he becomes unclean, through any of that person's impurity.

The person who touches it shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy things unless he has washed his flesh in water.

And when the sun has set, he shall be purified, and afterward he may eat of the holy things; for it is his food.

A carcass or a torn animal he shall not eat, to defile himself by it. I am the LORD.

And they shall keep my charge, and not bear sin on account of it, lest they die through it when they profane it. I am the LORD, who consecrates them.

And no outsider shall eat of the holy thing; a lodger of a priest and a hired worker shall not eat of the holy thing.

And a priest, if he buys a person, the property of his silver — he may eat of it; and those born of his house — they may eat of his food.

And a priest's daughter, if she becomes married to a man who is a stranger, she shall not eat of the contribution of the holy offerings.

But if the daughter of a priest becomes a widow or is divorced, and has no offspring, and returns to her father's house as in her youth, she may eat of her father's food; but no outsider shall eat of it.

And if a man eats a holy thing inadvertently, he shall add a fifth of it to it and give the holy thing to the priest.

And they shall not profane the holy things of the sons of Israel — those which they contribute to the LORD.

And they shall cause them to bear the iniquity of guilt when they eat their holy things; for I am the LORD who sanctifies them.

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel, and say to them: Any man from the house of Israel or from the sojourner in Israel who brings his offering for any of their vows or for any of their freewill offerings that they bring to the LORD as a burnt offering —

For your acceptance — an unblemished male from cattle, from sheep, or from goats.

Everything that has a blemish in it you shall not offer, for it shall not be for acceptance for you all.

And if a man presents a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD to fulfill a special vow or as a freewill offering from the herd or from the flock, it shall be unblemished to be accepted — no defect shall be in it.

Blind, or broken, or mutilated, or with a wart, or having a festering sore, or having a running sore — you shall not present these to the LORD; and as a fire offering you shall not place any of them on the altar to the LORD.

And an ox or a sheep that is oversized or undersized — a freewill offering you may make of it, but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

And one that is bruised or crushed or torn or cut you shall not offer to the LORD; and in your land of you all you shall not do this.

And from the hand of a foreigner you shall not present the food of God of you all from any of these; for their corruption is in them, a blemish is in them — they shall not be accepted for you.

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

When an ox or a lamb or a goat is born, it shall remain seven days under its mother, and from the eighth day onward it is acceptable as a food offering to the LORD.

And an ox or a sheep, it and its young — you shall not slaughter on one day.

And when you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the LORD, you shall sacrifice it for your acceptance.

On that day it shall be eaten; you shall not leave any of it until morning. I am the LORD.

And you shall keep my commandments and do them: I am the LORD.

And you shall not profane my holy name, that I may be sanctified among the sons of Israel. I am the LORD who sanctifies you all,

who brought you out from the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the LORD.
