Hebrews 5

For every high priest taken from among men is appointed on behalf of men in things relating to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

being able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is also encompassed by weakness;

And because of this obligation, he must offer sacrifices for sins just as for the people, so also for himself.

And no one takes the honor upon himself, but only the one called by God, just as also Aaron.

So also Christ did not glorify himself to become a high priest, but the one who said to him: 'You are my Son; today I have begotten you.'

even as he says also in another place: "You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek."

In the days of his flesh, he offered up both prayers and supplications to the one who was able to save him from death, with loud crying and tears, and was heard because of his reverence.

though being a Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered;

And having been perfected, he became the source of eternal salvation to all those who obey him,

having been designated by God a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

Concerning this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become sluggish in hearing.

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you again have need of someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have become those who have need of milk and not of solid food.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

But solid food is for the mature, for those who through practice have their senses trained to distinguish both good and evil.
