Hebrews 3

¹Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider carefully the apostle and high priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

²who was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses also was in all his house.

³For this one has been deemed worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as the one who built it has more honor than the house.

⁴For every house is built by someone, but the one who built all things is God.

⁵And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of the things to be spoken;

⁶but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son, whose house we are, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and the pride of our hope firm to the end.

⁷Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says: 'Today, if you hear his voice,

⁸do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,

⁹where your fathers tried me by testing, and they saw my works

¹⁰therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their hearts; they have not known my ways.'

¹¹as I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'

¹²Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, turning away from the living God.

¹³But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called 'today,' so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

¹⁴For we have become partakers of Christ, if indeed we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm to the end.

¹⁵As it is said, 'Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.'

¹⁶For who were those who, having heard, rebelled? But was it not all those who came out of Egypt through Moses?

¹⁷But with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

¹⁸And to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?

¹⁹And so we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
