Hebrews 3

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider carefully the apostle and high priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

who was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses also was in all his house.

For this one has been deemed worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as the one who built it has more honor than the house.

For every house is built by someone, but the one who built all things is God.

And Moses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of the things to be spoken;

but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son, whose house we are, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and the pride of our hope firm to the end.

Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says: 'Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness,

where your fathers tried me by testing, and they saw my works

therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their hearts; they have not known my ways.'

as I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'

Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, turning away from the living God.

But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called 'today,' so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

For we have become partakers of Christ, if indeed we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm to the end.

As it is said, 'Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.'

For who were those who, having heard, rebelled? But was it not all those who came out of Egypt through Moses?

But with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

And to whom did he swear that they would not enter into his rest, if not to those who disobeyed?

And so we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
