Hebrews 2
Therefore we must pay closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.
For if the word spoken through angels proved valid, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense,
how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? It began to be spoken through the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,
God also bearing witness with them by signs and wonders and various miracles and by distributions of the Holy Spirit, according to his will.
For it was not to angels that he subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
But somewhere someone testified, saying: 'What is man, that you are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you care for him?'
You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor, and appointed him over the works of your hands.
you subjected all things under his feet.' For in subjecting all things to him, he left nothing unsubjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
but we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.
For it was fitting for him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
For both the one who sanctifies and those being sanctified are all from one; for which reason he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
saying, 'I will declare your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.'
And again: 'I will be trusting in him.' And again: 'Behold, I and the children whom God has given me.'
Since therefore the children have partaken of blood and flesh, he himself likewise partook of the same things, so that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
and might set free those who through fear of death throughout all their life were subject to slavery.
For surely it is not angels he takes hold of, but he takes hold of the offspring of Abraham.
Therefore he was obligated in all respects to be made like his brothers, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
