Genesis 7

And the Lord said to Noah: Come, you and all your household, into the ark, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.

From every clean animal take seven pairs, a male and its mate, and from animals that are not clean, two, a male and its mate.

Also from the flying things of the heavens, seven pairs, male and female, to keep their offspring alive upon the face of all the earth.

For in seven more days I will send rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe out every living thing that I have made from the face of the ground.

And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him.

Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth.

And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.

Of clean animals and of animals that are not clean, and of flying things, and of everything that creeps on the ground,

two by two they came to Noah into the ark, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.

And after seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.

In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

On that very day Noah entered, and Shem and Ham and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife and the three wives of his sons with them into the ark.

They and every living thing after its kind, and every animal after its kind, and every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth after its kind, and every flying thing after its kind, every bird of every wing.

And they came to Noah into the ark, two by two of all flesh in which there is the breath of life.

And those that entered went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him. And the Lord shut him in.

The flood continued forty days upon the earth, and the waters increased and lifted the ark, and it rose above the earth.

And the waters prevailed and increased greatly upon the earth, and the ark moved upon the face of the waters.

And the waters prevailed so greatly upon the earth that all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.

Fifteen cubits above did the waters prevail, and the mountains were covered.

And all flesh died that moved on the earth — birds, livestock, wild animals, all swarming things that swarm on the earth, and all humankind.

Everything in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was on dry ground, died.

He wiped out every living thing that was on the face of the ground — humankind, animals, creeping things, and flying things of the heavens. They were wiped out from the earth. Only Noah remained, and those who were with him in the ark.

And the waters prevailed upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.
