Genesis 6

¹And it came to pass, when the humans began to multiply upon the face of the ground, and daughters were born to them.

²And the sons of God saw the daughters of the humans, that they were good. And they took for themselves women from all whom they chose.

³And the Lord said: My spirit shall not abide in humankind forever, seeing that they are flesh. Their days shall be one hundred and twenty years.

⁴The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of humankind, and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men of old, the men of renown.

⁵And the Lord saw that the evil of humankind was great on the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all day long.

⁶And the Lord was sorry that he had made humankind on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.

⁷And the Lord said: I will wipe out humankind whom I have created from the face of the ground, from humankind to animals to creeping things to flying things of the heavens, for I am sorry that I made them.

⁸But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

⁹These are the toledot of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.

¹⁰And Noah fathered three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

¹¹Now the earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

¹²And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.

¹³And God said to Noah: The end of all flesh has come before me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.

¹⁴Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make the ark with rooms, and cover it inside and out with pitch.

¹⁵And this is how you shall make it: three hundred cubits the length of the ark, fifty cubits its width, and thirty cubits its height.

¹⁶Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks.

¹⁷For behold, I am bringing the flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the heavens. Everything on the earth shall perish.

¹⁸But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons' wives with you.

¹⁹And of every living thing, of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.

²⁰Of the flying things after their kind, and of the livestock after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind shall come to you to keep them alive.

²¹Also take with you every kind of food that is eaten, and store it up, and it shall serve as food for you and for them.

²²Noah did this. According to all that God commanded him, so he did.
