Genesis 1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

And the earth was formless and lifeless, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good. And God separated between the light and between the darkness.

And God called the light 'Day,' and the darkness he called 'Night,' and there was evening and there was morning, one day.

And God said, 'Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it be a separator between water and water.'

And God made the expanse, and he separated between the water that is below the expanse and the water that is above the expanse. And it was so.

And God called the expanse heavens. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

And God said, 'Let the waters under the heavens be gathered to one place, and let dry land appear,' and it was so.

And God called the dry land 'Earth,' and the gathering of the waters he called 'Seas,' and God saw that it was good.

And God said, 'Let the earth cause sprouts to sprout — vegetation, plants seeding seed, fruit trees making fruit of its kind whose seed is in it, upon the earth,' and it was so.

And the earth brought forth sprouts — vegetation, plants seeding seed of its kind, and trees making fruit whose seed is in it of its kind, and God saw that it was good.

And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate between the day and between the night, and let them be for signs, and for appointed times, and for days and years.

and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so.

And God made the two great luminaries — the great luminary for dominion of the day, and the lesser luminary for dominion of the night — and the stars.

And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.

and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate between the light and between the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

And God said: Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and flying things fly above the earth, upon the face of the expanse of the heavens.

And God created the great tannanim and every living creature that creeps, with which the waters swarmed, according to their kinds, and every flying thing of wing according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

And God blessed them, saying: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the flying things multiply on the earth.

And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.

And God said: Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind — livestock, and creeping things, and wild animals of the earth after their kind. And it was so.

And God made the living creatures of the earth according to their kind, and the cattle according to their kind, and every creeping thing of the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

And God said: Let us make humankind as our image, after our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the flying things of the heavens, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over all the creeping things that creep upon the earth.

And God created the human as his image, as the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

And God blessed them, and God said to them: Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, and over the flying things of the heavens, and over every living creature that creeps upon the earth.

And God said: Look, I have given to you every plant seeding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which there is fruit of a tree seeding seed — to you it shall be for food.

and to all the living creatures of the earth, and to all the flying things of the heavens, and to all that creeps upon the earth in which there is a living creature, every green plant [I give] for food. And it was so.

And God saw all that he had made, and look, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, a day, the sixth.
