Galatians 5
For the freedom with which Christ has set us free, stand firm therefore, and do not be entangled again in a yoke of slavery.
Look, I, Paul, say to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.
And I testify again to every man who receives circumcision that he is obligated to do the whole law.
You are severed from Christ, you who are being justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.
For we, by the Spirit, eagerly await from faith the hope of righteousness.
For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but faith working through love.
You were running well; who hindered you so that you do not obey the truth?
This persuasion is not from the one who is calling you.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
I am confident about you in the Lord that you will think nothing otherwise; but the one who is troubling you will bear the judgment, whoever he may be.
But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.
Would that those who are unsettling you would even cut themselves off!
For you were called to freedom, brothers; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
For the whole law has been fulfilled in one word: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will certainly not gratify the desire of the flesh.
For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are opposed to one another, so that you may not do the things you wish.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, licentiousness,
idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,
envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these; about which I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
