Exodus 40
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
On the first day of the first month, on the first of the month, you shall erect the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.
And you shall place there the ark of the testimony, and screen the ark with the curtain.
And you shall bring in the table and arrange its arrangement, and you shall bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.
And you shall place the gold altar for incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the screen of the entrance of the tabernacle.
And you shall place the altar of burnt offering before the entrance of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.
And you shall place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water there.
And you shall set up the court all around, and hang the screen of the gate of the court.
And you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and all that is in it, and consecrate it and all its vessels, and it shall be holy.
And you shall anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its vessels, and consecrate the altar, and the altar shall be most holy.
And you shall anoint the basin and its stand, and consecrate it.
And you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and wash them with water.
And you shall clothe Aaron with the sacred garments and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may minister as priest to me.
And his sons you shall bring near and clothe them with tunics.
And you shall anoint them as you anointed their father, that they may minister as priests to me, and their anointing shall be for them a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.
And Moses did according to all that the LORD commanded him — so he did.
And it was in the first month of the second year, on the first of the month, the tabernacle was erected.
And Moses erected the tabernacle, and set its sockets, and set up its boards, and placed its bars, and erected its pillars.
And he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it above, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he took and placed the testimony into the ark, and set the poles upon the ark, and placed the mercy seat on the ark from above.
And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and set up the screening curtain, and screened the ark of the testimony, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he placed the table in the tent of meeting on the side of the tabernacle northward, outside the curtain.
And he arranged on it an arrangement of bread before the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.
And he set up the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting before the curtain.
And he burned fragrant incense on it, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he placed the screen of the entrance of the tabernacle.
And the altar of burnt offering he placed at the entrance of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the grain offering, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water there for washing.
And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed from it their hands and their feet.
When they came to the tent of meeting and when they drew near to the altar, they washed, as the LORD commanded Moses.
And he erected the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and placed the screen of the gate of the court. And Moses finished the work.
And the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
And Moses was not able to come into the tent of meeting, because the cloud dwelt upon it and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
And whenever the cloud was lifted from upon the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out on all their journeys.
But if the cloud was not lifted, they would not set out until the day it was lifted.
For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire would be in it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Israel throughout all their journeys.
