Exodus 31

¹The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

²See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

³I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge, and in all craftsmanship.

⁴To devise artistic designs, to work in gold, in silver, and in bronze.

⁵And in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in all craftsmanship.

⁶And I, behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the heart of every skilled craftsman I have placed wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded you.

⁷the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furnishings of the tent,

⁸and the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand and all its utensils, and the altar of incense,

⁹And the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin and its stand.

¹⁰And the service garments, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister as priests.

¹¹And the anointing oil, and the incense of spices for the holy place — according to all that I have commanded you, they shall make.

¹²And Yahweh said to Moses, saying:

¹³And you yourself speak to the sons of Israel, saying: Surely my sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between me and between you throughout your generations, to know that I, Yahweh, am consecrating you.

¹⁴And you shall keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you all; whoever profanes it shall surely be put to death, for whoever does any work in it — that person shall be cut off from among her people.

¹⁵Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.

¹⁶And the sons of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations — an everlasting covenant.

¹⁷Between me and between the sons of Israel it is a sign forever, for in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.

¹⁸And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone written with the finger of God.
