Exodus 30
And you shall make an altar for burning incense; of acacia wood you shall make it.
A cubit its length, and a cubit its width — it shall be square — and two cubits its height; its horns shall be of one piece with it.
And you shall overlay it with pure gold — its top and its walls around and its horns; and you shall make for it a molding of gold around.
And two rings of gold you shall make for it below its molding on its two sides — you shall make them on its two sides — and they shall be as holders for poles to carry it with.
And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
And you shall place it before the curtain that is over the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you.
And Aaron shall burn on it incense of spices — morning by morning, when he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.
And when Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he shall burn it — a continual incense before Yahweh throughout your generations.
You shall not offer strange incense on it, nor a burnt offering, nor a grain offering; and a drink offering you shall not pour on it.
And Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year; with the blood of the sin offering of atonements, once a year, he shall make atonement on it throughout your generations — it is most holy to the LORD.
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
When you take a census of the sons of Israel according to their enrollment, each man shall give a ransom for his life to the LORD when you enroll them, so that there will be no plague among them when you enroll them.
This is what everyone who is enrolled shall give: a half shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary — twenty gerahs to the shekel — a half shekel as an offering to the LORD.
Everyone who crosses over to those who are enrolled, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the contribution of the LORD.
The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than the half shekel, when giving the contribution of the LORD to make atonement for your lives.
You shall take the atonement silver from the sons of Israel and give it for the service of the tent of meeting, and it shall be a memorial for the sons of Israel before the LORD, to make atonement for your lives.
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
You shall make a basin of bronze, with its stand of bronze, for washing; and you shall put it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.
Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet from it.
When they come into the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they do not die, or when they approach the altar to minister, to burn a food offering to the LORD.
They shall wash their hands and their feet so that they do not die; and it shall be a perpetual statute for them, for him and for his offspring throughout their generations.
And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying:
And you yourself take the finest spices: of free-flowing myrrh five hundred shekels, and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, two hundred and fifty, and of fragrant cane two hundred and fifty.
And cassia five hundred shekels by the sanctuary shekel, and a hin of olive oil.
And you shall make it a holy anointing oil, a perfumer's blend, the work of a perfumer — it shall be a holy anointing oil.
And you shall anoint with it the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony,
and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense;
and the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin and its stand.
And you shall consecrate them, and they shall be most holy; whatever touches them shall become holy.
And Aaron and his sons you shall anoint, and consecrate them to minister to me as priests.
And to the sons of Israel you shall speak, saying: This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations.
On the flesh of a man it shall not be poured, and according to its formula you shall not make anything like it — it is holy; it shall be holy to you all.
Anyone who compounds anything like it, or who puts any of it on a stranger, shall be cut off from his people.
And the LORD said to Moses: Take yourself spices — stacte and onycha and galbanum, spices and pure frankincense — in equal parts shall it be.
You shall make of it incense, a spice blend, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, holy.
You shall beat some of it into fine powder and place some of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting where I will meet you there; it shall be most holy of you all.
The incense that you make according to its formula you shall not make for yourselves of you all; it shall be holy to you for the LORD.
Anyone who makes any like it to smell it shall be cut off from his people.
