Ephesians 1
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love,
having foreordained us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
to the praise of the glory of his grace, in which he has freely bestowed favor on us in the Beloved,
in whom we have the redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and understanding,
having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in him,
for an administration of the fullness of the appointed times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth —
in him in whom we also were appointed as God's portion, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,
to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had first hoped in Christ;
in him you also, having heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation — in him also, having believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
which is the down payment of our inheritance, toward the redemption of the acquired possession, to the praise of his glory.
For this reason I also, having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints,
I do not cease giving thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him,
the eyes of your heart having been enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance among the saints,
and what is the surpassing greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of the might of his strength,
which he worked in Christ, having raised him from the dead and having seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,
far above every rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come,
and he subjected all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,
