Deuteronomy 33

And this is the blessing with which Moses, the man of God, blessed the children of Israel before his death.

And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and dawned upon them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran, and came from ten thousands of holy ones. From his right hand a fire of law for them.

Indeed, he cherishes peoples; all his holy ones are in your hand; and they follow at your feet, each one receives from your words.

Instruction that Moses commanded for us, a possession of the assembly of Jacob.

And he was king in Jeshurun when the heads of the people gathered, the tribes of Israel together.

May Reuben live, and may he not die, though his men be few.

And this for Judah. And he said: Hear, O Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people. His hands have striven for him, and you will be a helper against his adversaries.

And of Levi he said: Your Thummim and Your Urim belong to your godly man, whom you tested at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah.

who said to his father and to his mother, 'I have not seen him,' and who did not acknowledge his brothers, and whose own children he did not know -- for they kept your word and guarded your covenant.

They shall teach your ordinances to Jacob, and your instruction to Israel; they shall put incense before you, and whole burnt offerings upon your altar.

Bless, O Lord, his strength, and accept the work of his hands; smash the loins of those who rise against him, and of those who hate him, so they rise no more.

Of Benjamin he said: The beloved of the LORD dwells in security beside him; he shields over him all the day long, and between his shoulders he dwells.

And to Joseph he said: 'Blessed of the Lord is his land, from the choice gifts of the heavens, from dew, and from the deep that crouches below.'

and from the choice things of the produce of the sun, and from the choice things of the yield of the moons.

and from the top of the ancient mountains, and from the choice gifts of the everlasting hills;

and from the choice things of the earth and its fullness, and the favor of him who dwells in the bush -- may they come upon the head of Joseph, and upon the crown of the head of the one consecrated among his brothers.

The firstborn of his bull -- majesty is his, and the horns of a wild ox are his horns; with them he gores peoples together, to the ends of the earth. And they are the myriads of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

And of Zebulun he said: Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out, and Issachar in your tents.

They shall call peoples to the mountain; there they shall sacrifice sacrifices of righteousness, for they shall draw from the abundance of the seas, and the hidden treasures of the sand.

Of Gad he said: Blessed be he who enlarges Gad! Like a lion he crouches, and he tears the arm, yes, the crown of the head.

He saw the first portion for himself, for there was the reserved plot of the commander; and he came as chieftain of the people. He carried out the righteousness of the Lord, and his judgments with Israel.

And of Dan he said: Dan is a lion's whelp that springs forth from Bashan.

Of Naphtali he said: Naphtali, sated with favor and full of the blessing of the LORD -- the sea and the south possess.

And of Asher he said: Blessed above sons is Asher; let him be the favored of his brothers, and let him dip his foot in oil.

Iron and bronze are your gate-bars, and as your days, so is your strength.

There is none like God, O Jeshurun, who rides the heavens to your help, and through his majesty the skies.

The dwelling place of God of old, and underneath are the arms of eternity; he drove out the enemy from before you and said, Destroy!

So Israel dwells in security, alone -- the spring of Jacob is toward a land of grain and new wine; yes, his skies drip with dew.

How blessed are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord -- the shield of your help and the sword of your triumph. Your enemies shall cringe before you, and you shall tread upon their high places.
