2 Chronicles 5
1So all the work that Solomon did for the house of the Lord was finished. And Solomon brought in the holy things of David his father: the silver, the gold, and all the vessels he put in the treasuries of the house of God.
2Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the ancestral houses of the people of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the City of David, which is Zion.
3All the men of Israel assembled to the king at the feast, which was in the seventh month.
4And all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites lifted the ark.
5They brought up the ark and the tent of meeting and all the holy vessels that were in the tent; the priests and the Levites brought them up.
6King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who had assembled before him were before the ark, sacrificing so many sheep and cattle that they could not be counted or numbered for abundance.
7The priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, into the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim.
8The cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the ark, so that the cherubim covered the ark and its poles above.
9The poles were long enough that the heads of the poles were seen from the ark in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; and they are there to this day.
10There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets that Moses placed there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the Israelites when they came out of Egypt.
11Now when the priests came out of the holy place — for all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves, without regard to their divisions —
12The Levitical singers — all of them, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and brothers — clothed in fine linen, stood east of the altar with cymbals, harps, and lyres, and with them one hundred twenty priests trumpeting with trumpets.
13and it was as one voice — the trumpeters and singers together — to make themselves heard in praising and giving thanks to the LORD; and when they lifted up their voices with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, 'For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever,' the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud,
14The priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
