2 Chronicles 3
1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the LORD had appeared to David his father, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2He began to build in the second month, on the second day, in the fourth year of his reign.
3These are the foundations that Solomon laid for building the house of God: the length, in cubits by the old standard, was sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.
4The vestibule that was in front, corresponding to the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and its height was one hundred and twenty cubits. He overlaid it inside with pure gold.
5The great nave he paneled with cypress wood and overlaid it with fine gold, and put upon it palm trees and chains.
6He adorned the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold of Parvaim.
7He overlaid the house — its beams, its thresholds, its walls, and its doors — with gold, and engraved cherubim on the walls.
8He made the Most Holy Place. Its length, corresponding to the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and its width was twenty cubits. He covered it with fine gold amounting to six hundred talents.
9The weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold, and he overlaid the upper rooms with gold.
10In the Most Holy Place he made two cherubim of sculptured work and overlaid them with gold.
11The wingspan of the cherubim was twenty cubits in all: one wing of the first was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, and the other wing was five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub.
12and the wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house, while the other wing, five cubits, was joined to the wing of the other cherub.
13The wings of these cherubim were spread out to span twenty cubits; and they stood on their feet, with their faces toward the nave.
14He made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and he worked cherubim on it.
15He also made before the house two pillars, thirty-five cubits in length, with a capital of five cubits on top of each.
16He made chains in the inner sanctuary and put them on the tops of the pillars, and he made a hundred pomegranates and put them on the chains.
17He erected the pillars before the temple, one on the right and one on the left; he called the name of the right one Jachin, and the name of the left one Boaz.
