Samuel 19
And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants to put David to death, but Jonathan son of Saul delighted greatly in David.
And Jonathan told David, saying: 'Saul my father is seeking to put you to death. Now please guard yourself in the morning and stay in a hiding place and conceal yourself.'
And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will speak about you to my father, and I will see what and tell you.
And Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him: 'The king must not sin against his servant David, for he has not sinned against you, and his deeds have been very good toward you.',
For he risked his life and struck the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great deliverance for all Israel. You saw it and you rejoiced. Why then would you sin against innocent blood by putting David to death without cause?
And Saul listened to the voice of Jonathan, and Saul swore: 'As the LORD lives, he shall not be put to death.'
And Jonathan called to David and reported to him all these words, and Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence as before.
And war broke out again, and David went out and fought against the Philistines and struck them a great blow, and they fled before him.
And a bad spirit of the LORD came upon Saul, and he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing with his hand.
And Saul sought to strike David with the spear into the wall, but he slipped away from before Saul, and the spear struck into the wall; and David fled and escaped that night.
And Saul sent messengers to the house of David to watch him and to put him to death in the morning. But Michal his wife told David, saying, "If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be put to death."
And Michal let David down through the window, and he went and fled and escaped.
And Michal took the teraphim and put them on the bed, and a quilt of goats' hair she put at the head of it, and covered it with a garment.
And Saul sent messengers to take David, and she said, "He is ill."
And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying: 'Bring him up to me in the bed, to put him to death.'
And the messengers came, and behold, the teraphim were on the bed, with the quilt of goats' hair at its head.
And Saul said to Michal, "Why have you deceived me like this and sent my enemy away so that he escaped?" And Michal said to Saul, "He said to me, 'Send me away! Why should I kill you?'"
And David fled and escaped and came to Samuel at Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him, and he and Samuel went and stayed at Naioth.
And it was told to Saul, saying, "Behold, David is in Naioth in Ramah."
And Saul sent messengers to seize David, and they saw a company of the prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing as head over them; and the spirit of God came upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
And they told Saul, and he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. And Saul sent again and sent messengers a third time, and they also prophesied.
And he also went to Ramah and came to the great well that is in Secu; and he asked and said, "Where are Samuel and David?" And someone said, "Behold, in Naioth in Ramah."
And he went there to Naioth in Ramah, and the spirit of God came upon him also, and he went on, prophesying as he went, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
And he also stripped off his garments and also prophesied before Samuel and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"
