Peter 5

Therefore I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that is about to be revealed:

Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion but willingly, as God would have it, and not for shameful gain but eagerly.

nor as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but becoming examples to the flock.

And when the Chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

Likewise, younger ones, be subject to the elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time,

casting all your anxiety upon him, because he cares for you.

Be sober-minded, be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Withstand him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being accomplished by your brotherhood throughout the world.

And the God of all grace, who called you into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, he himself will restore you, will establish you, will strengthen you, will ground you.

To him belongs glory and might forever and ever. Amen.

Through Silvanus, the faithful brother as I regard him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.

She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you greetings, as does Mark my son.

Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus.
