Peter 4

Christ therefore having suffered in the flesh on our behalf, arm yourselves also with the same way of thinking, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.

so as to live no longer by human desires, but by the will of God, the remaining time in the flesh.

For the time of life that has passed is sufficient for us to have carried out the will of the Gentiles, having walked in sensualities, in lusts, in drunkenness, in revelries, in carousals, and in unlawful idolatries.

In which they are astonished that you are not running together with them into the same flood of debauchery, and they speak evil of you.

who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

For to this end also the gospel was proclaimed even to the dead, so that they might be judged indeed in the flesh according to men, but might live in the spirit according to God.

Now the end of all things has drawn near; therefore be of sound mind and be sober for prayers.

Above all, having fervent love among yourselves, because love covers a multitude of sins.

Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.

Each one, just as he has received a gift, serve it to one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

If anyone speaks, let it be as oracles of God; if anyone serves, let it be as from the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and the might forever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, taking place for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you.

but insofar as you share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, so that also at the revelation of his glory you may rejoice, exulting.

If you are reproached in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

For let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler in others' affairs.

but if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name.

For it is the time for judgment to begin from the house of God; and if it begins first from us, what will be the outcome for those who disobey the gospel of God?

And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?

Therefore also let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing good.
