Kings 7

And his house Solomon built in thirteen years, and he finished all his house.

And he built the House of the Forest of Lebanon: one hundred cubits its length and fifty cubits its breadth and thirty cubits its height, upon four rows of cedar pillars and cedar beams upon the pillars.

And it was paneled with cedar above, over the side chambers that were upon the pillars — forty-five in number, fifteen per row.

And there were window frames in three rows, with a window facing a window three times over.

And all the doorways and doorposts were square-framed; and window facing window in three tiers.

And the Hall of Pillars he made: fifty cubits its length and thirty cubits its width; and a vestibule was before them, with pillars and a canopy before them.

And the Hall of the Throne where he would judge — the Hall of Justice he made, covered with cedar from the floor to the ceiling.

And his house where he would dwell — the other court within the Hall — was of like construction. And a house Solomon made for the daughter of Pharaoh whom he had taken — like this Hall.

All these were of precious stones, according to the measure of hewn stone, sawn with a saw, inside and outside, from the foundation to the coping, and outside to the great court.

And the foundation was of precious stones, large stones — stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits.

And above were precious stones according to measure — hewn stone — and cedar.

And the great court all around had three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams, like the inner court of the house of the LORD and the porch of the house.

And King Solomon sent and took Hiram from Tyre.

He was the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a Tyrian man, a bronze craftsman; and he was filled with wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to do all work in bronze; and he came to King Solomon and did all his work.

And he cast the two bronze pillars; eighteen cubits was the height of the one pillar, and a cord of twelve cubits would encircle the second pillar.

And two capitals he made — cast of bronze — to set upon the tops of the pillars; five cubits was the height of the one capital, and five cubits was the height of the second capital.

Latticeworks of netting and tassels of chain, for the capitals that were on top of the pillars — seven for the one capital and seven for the other capital.

And he made the pillars with two rows all around on the one network to cover the capital on top of the pomegranates; and so he did for the second capital.

And the capitals that were on top of the pillars were of lily-work in the porch — four cubits.

And the capitals on both pillars — also above, adjacent to the rounded belly that was beside the network — and the pomegranates were two hundred in rows around the second capital.

And he set up the pillars at the porch of the temple; and he set up the right pillar and called its name Jachin; and he set up the left pillar and called its name Boaz.

And on top of the pillars was lily-work; and the work of the pillars was complete.

And he made the molten sea: ten cubits from brim to brim, round all around; five cubits its height; and a measuring-line of thirty cubits encircled it all around.

And gourds below its rim, going all around encircling it — ten per cubit encircling the Sea all around; two rows of gourds cast in its casting.

Standing upon twelve oxen: three facing northward, and three facing westward, and three facing southward, and three facing eastward; and the Sea was upon them from above; and all their hindquarters were inward.

Its thickness was a handbreadth, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom; it held two thousand baths.

And he made ten bronze stands; four cubits the length of each stand and four cubits its width and three cubits its height.

And this was the construction of the stands: they had frames, and the frames were between the cross-bars.

And on the frames between the cross-bars were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the cross-bars, likewise above and below the lions and the oxen, were hanging wreaths.

And each stand had four bronze wheels and bronze axles; and its four supports had cast wreaths on each side, below the laver.

And its opening was inside the capital and upward — a cubit; its opening was round, of stand-work, a cubit and a half; and also on its opening were carvings, and the frames were square, not round.

And the four wheels were underneath the frames, and the wheel axles were in the stand; and the height of each wheel was a cubit and a half.

And the construction of the wheels was like the construction of a chariot wheel; their axles and their rims and their spokes and their hubs — all cast.

And four shoulders at the four corners of each base; from the base its shoulders.

And at the top of the base was a half-cubit height, round all around; and upon the top of the base its supports and its border were from it.

And he engraved on the panels and on their borders cherubim, lions, and palm trees — as many as each space allowed — and wreaths all around.

After this manner he made the ten stands — one casting, one measure, one shape for all of them.

And he made ten bronze lavers; each laver held forty baths — each laver was four cubits — one laver upon each of the ten stands.

And he placed five stands on the right side of the house and five on its left side; and the sea he placed on the right side of the house, to the east, opposite the south.

And Hiram made the lavers, the shovels, and the bowls; and Hiram finished all the work that he did for King Solomon for the house of the LORD.

The two pillars and the two bowl-shaped capitals that were on top of the pillars, and the two networks to cover the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars.

And the pomegranates — four hundred for the two latticeworks, two rows of pomegranates for each latticework, to cover the two bowl-capitals that were upon the pillars.

And the ten bases and the ten lavers upon the bases.

And the one Sea and the twelve oxen under the Sea.

And the pots and the shovels and the basins — and all these vessels that Hiram made for King Solomon for the house of the LORD — burnished bronze.

In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarethan.

And Solomon left all the vessels — because of the exceeding great quantity, the weight of the bronze was not determined.

And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of the LORD: the golden altar and the table upon which was the bread of the Presence — gold.

And the lampstands — five on the right and five on the left — before the inner sanctuary, of pure gold; and the flowers and the lamps and the tongs — gold.

And the cups and the snuffers and the bowls and the spoons and the censers — pure gold; and the hinges for the doors of the inner house, for the Holy of Holies, and for the doors of the nave — gold.

And all the work that King Solomon did for the house of the LORD was completed; and Solomon brought in the holy things of David his father — the silver and the gold and the vessels — and placed them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.
