Kings 10

And when the queen of Sheba heard the report of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to test him with riddles.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones; and she came to Solomon and spoke to him all that was on her heart.

And Solomon answered her all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he did not tell her.

And when the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built,

and the food of his table, and the seating of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their attire, and his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered up at the house of the LORD, there was no more breath in her.

And she said to the king: ‘The report was true that I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.’

But I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes saw; and behold, the half was not told to me. You have surpassed in wisdom and prosperity the report that I heard.

Happy are your men! Happy are these your servants who stand before you continually and hear your wisdom!

Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you to set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he made you king to do justice and righteousness.

And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a very great quantity of spices, and precious stones. Never again did such an abundance of spices come as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

And also the fleet of Hiram, which carried gold from Ophir, brought from Ophir a very great quantity of almug wood and precious stones.

And the king made of the almug wood supports for the house of the Lord and for the king's house, and lyres and harps for the singers. No such almug wood has come or been seen to this day.

And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire which she asked, besides what he gave to her according to the hand of King Solomon. And she turned and went to her land, she and her servants.

Now the weight of the gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

besides what came from the traders and the traffic of the merchants, and from all the kings of Arabia and the governors of the land.

And King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.

And three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went up on the one shield. And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

And the king made a great throne of ivory and overlaid it with refined gold.

Six steps belonged to the throne, and the top of the throne was round behind it, and there were armrests on either side at the place of the seat, and two lions standing beside the armrests.

And twelve lions stood there on the six steps, on this side and on that. Nothing like it had ever been made for any kingdom.

And all King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; it was reckoned as nothing in the days of Solomon.

For the king had a fleet of Tarshish at sea with the fleet of Hiram; once in three years the fleet of Tarshish would come, carrying gold and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

And King Solomon became greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

And all the earth was seeking the face of Solomon, to hear his wisdom which God had put in his heart.

And they would bring, each man his gift, articles of silver and articles of gold, garments and weapons and spices, horses and mules, the matter of a year in a year.

And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen, and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, and he stationed them in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

And the king made silver in Jerusalem like stones, and cedars he made like the sycamore-figs that are in the Shephelah for abundance.

And the export of horses that Solomon had was from Egypt and from Kue; the kings merchants would procure them from Kue at a price.

And a chariot would go up and come out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Aram, by their hand they were brought out.
