1 Chronicles 27
1Now the sons of Israel by their number: the heads of the ancestral houses, the commanders of the thousands and hundreds, and their officers who served the king in every matter of the divisions — coming in and going out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each division twenty-four thousand.
2Over the first division for the first month: Jashobeam son of Zabdiel, and over his division, twenty-four thousand.
3He was of the sons of Perez, the head over all the army commanders for the first month.
4And over the division of the second month: Dodai the Ahohite, and his division with Mikloth the leader; and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
5The commander of the army, the third, for the third month: Benaiah son of Jehoiada the priest, the chief; and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
6He was Benaiah, a warrior of the Thirty and over the Thirty; and his division: Ammizabad his son.
7The fourth, for the fourth month — Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him; his division numbered twenty-four thousand.
8The fifth, for the fifth month — the commander Shamhuth the Izrahite; his division numbered twenty-four thousand.
9The sixth, for the sixth month: Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, and over his division, twenty-four thousand.
10The seventh, for the seventh month: Helez the Pelonite, from the sons of Ephraim; and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
11The eighth, for the eighth month — Sibbecai the Hushathite, of the Zerahites; his division numbered twenty-four thousand.
12The ninth, for the ninth month: Abiezer the Anathothite of the Benjaminites, and over his division, twenty-four thousand.
13The tenth, for the tenth month: Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zerahites; and over his division were twenty-four thousand.
14The eleventh, for the eleventh month — Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the sons of Ephraim; his division numbered twenty-four thousand.
15The twelfth, for the twelfth month: Heldai the Netophathite, of Othniel, and over his division, twenty-four thousand.
16And over the tribes of Israel: for the Reubenites, the leader: Eliezer son of Zichri; for the Simeonites, Shephatiah son of Maacah.
17For Levi: Hashabiah son of Kemuel; for Aaron: Zadok.
18For Judah: Elihu, one of the brothers of David; for Issachar: Omri son of Michael.
19For Zebulun, Ishmaiah son of Obadiah; for Naphtali, Jerimoth son of Azriel.
20For the sons of Ephraim: Hoshea son of Azaziah; for the half-tribe of Manasseh: Joel son of Pedaiah.
21For the half of Manasseh in Gilead: Iddo son of Zechariah; for Benjamin: Jaasiel son of Abner.
22For Dan, Azarel son of Jeroham. These are the officers of the tribes of Israel.
23But David did not count their number for those from twenty years old and younger, because the LORD had said he would multiply Israel like the stars of the heavens.
24Joab son of Zeruiah began to count, but did not finish; and wrath fell upon Israel because of this. And the count was not entered in the chronicles of King David.
25And over the treasuries of the king: Azmaveth son of Adiel; and over the storehouses in the countryside, in the cities, and in the villages, and in the towers: Jonathan son of Uzziah.
26And over those who did the work of the field, for the tillage of the ground: Ezri son of Chelub.
27And over the vineyards: Shimei the Ramathite; and over what was in the vineyards for the wine storehouses: Zabdi the Shiphmite.
28And over the olive trees and sycamore-fig trees that were in the Shephelah: Baal-hanan the Gederite; and over the storehouses of oil: Joash.
29And over the cattle grazing in the Sharon: Shitrai the Sharonite; and over the cattle in the valleys: Shaphat son of Adlai.
30And over the camels: Obil the Ishmaelite; and over the female donkeys: Jehdeiah the Meronothite.
31And over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite. All these were the officers over the property that belonged to King David.
32Jonathan, David's uncle, was a counselor, a man of understanding, and also a scribe; and Jehiel son of Hachmoni was with the sons of the king.
33And Ahithophel was counselor to the king; and Hushai the Archite was the king's friend.
34After Ahithophel came Jehoiada son of Benaiah and Abiathar; and the commander of the king's army was Joab.
