1 Chronicles 25

¹And they also cast lots, corresponding to their brothers the sons of Aaron, before David the king, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the clans of the priests and of the Levites, the chief father alongside his younger brother.

²Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah -- the sons of Asaph under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the direction of the king.

³Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah — six — under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with the lyre in giving thanks and praising the Lord.

⁴Of Heman: the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

⁵All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer, according to the word of God, to exalt his horn; and God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

⁶All these were under the authority of their fathers in the song of the house of the LORD, with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God, at the direction of the king — Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.

⁷And their number, together with their brothers who were trained in singing to the LORD, all who were skilled — was two hundred eighty-eight.

⁸And they cast lots for their duties, the small as well as the great, teacher and pupil alike.

⁹The first lot came out for Asaph: for Joseph; the second: Gedaliah, he with his brothers and his sons, twelve.

¹¹the fourth: for Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

¹²the fifth, Nethaniah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

¹³sixth for Bukkiah, his sons and brothers: twelve.

¹⁴seventh for [H3480], his sons and brothers: twelve.

¹⁵eighth for Isaiah, his sons and brothers: twelve.

¹⁶ninth for Mattaniah, his sons and brothers: twelve.

¹⁷tenth for Shimei, his sons and brothers: twelve.

¹⁸eleven for ten, his sons and brothers: twelve.

¹⁹two for ten, his sons and brothers: twelve.

²⁰three for ten, his sons and brothers: twelve.

²¹four for ten, his sons and brothers: twelve.

²²five for ten, his sons and brothers: twelve.

²³the sixteenth: for Hananiah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

²⁴the seventeenth, Joshbekashah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

²⁵the eighteenth for Hanani, his sons and brothers: twelve.

²⁶the nineteenth: for Mallothi, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

²⁷the twentieth, Eliathah, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

²⁸the twenty-first for Hothir, his sons and brothers: twelve.

²⁹the twenty-second for Giddalti, his sons and brothers: twelve.

³⁰the twenty-third: for Mahazioth, his sons and his brothers, twelve.

³¹the twenty-fourth, Romamti-ezer, his sons and his brothers, twelve.
