Chronicles 22
And David said, 'This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'
And David gave orders to gather the sojourners who were in the land of Israel, and set stonecutters to hew dressed stones to build the house of God.
And iron in abundance for nails for the doors of the gates and for clamps David had prepared, and bronze in abundance without weight.
And there was cedar timber beyond counting, for the Sidonians and the Tyrians brought cedar timber in abundance to David.
And David said, Solomon my son is a young man and tender, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly great for a name and for glory throughout all the lands; let me now prepare for him; and David prepared in abundance before his death.
And he called Solomon his son and charged him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.
And David said to Solomon his son, 'My son, I had it in my heart to build a house for the name of the LORD my God.'
And the word of the LORD came to me, saying: You have shed blood in abundance and waged great wars; you shall not build a house for my name, for you have shed much blood to the ground before me.
Behold, a son will be born to you; he will be a man of rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; for Solomon will be his name, and peace and quiet I will give to Israel in his days.
He will build a house for my name, and he will be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.
Now, my son, may the LORD be with you, that you may prosper and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has spoken concerning you.
Only may the Lord give you insight and understanding, and may he charge you over Israel to keep the law of the Lord your God.
Then you will prosper if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous; do not fear and do not be dismayed.
And behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold and a thousand thousands of talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond weighing, for there was so much of it; and timber and stone I have prepared, and you shall add to them.
And with you in abundance are workers in every craft, stonecutters and craftsmen in stone and wood, and every skilled man in every kind of work.
For gold, for silver, for bronze and for iron there is no counting. Arise and do it, and may the LORD be with you!
And David commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son.
Is not the LORD the God of you all with you? And he has given you rest on all sides, for he gave into my hand the inhabitants of the land, and the land has been subdued before the LORD and before his people.
Now give the heart of you all and the soul of you all to seek the Lord God of you all, and arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God to the house being built for the name of the Lord.
