Chronicles 14

And Huram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar timber, craftsmen of the wall, and craftsmen of wood, to build him a house.

And David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted high for the sake of his people Israel.

And David took more wives in Jerusalem, and David fathered more sons and daughters.

And these are the names of the children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon.

Ibhar, Elishua, and Eliphelet.

Nogah, Nepheg, and Japhia.

Elishama, Beeliada, and Eliphelet.

And the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel; and all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard and went out before them.

And the Philistines came and made a raid in the Valley of Rephaim.

And David inquired of God, saying, 'Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?' And the Lord said to him, 'Go up, and I will give them into your hand.'

And they went up to Baal-perazim, and David struck them there; and David said, 'God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breaking through of waters.' Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

And they abandoned their gods there; and David gave orders, and they were burned with fire.

And the Philistines again made a raid in the valley.

And David inquired of God again, and God said to him, 'Do not go up after them; circle around from before them, and come at them from opposite the balsam trees.'

And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.

And David did just as God commanded him, and they struck the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon to Gezer.

And the name of David went out into all the lands, and the LORD placed the dread of him upon all the nations.
